Veteran Ministry

You served with honor.
You are welcome here.

Whatever you carry from your service — PTSD, moral injury, TBI, addiction, the things that don’t have names yet — this ministry was built for you. By someone who carried it too.

Built by a Veteran, Not About Veterans

Dr. Jose “Dr. J” Rodriguez served in the United States Navy on the USS South Carolina (CGN-37), a nuclear-powered cruiser that was part of the USS America carrier battle group during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm (1990–1991).

He came home carrying what you carry. Not as an observer, not as a counselor who studied the subject — as a man who has lived inside the same weight for decades. His work with veterans is personal, not pastoral at a distance.

After 30 years of ministry and a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies, he built Troika Ministries and TaMOS with veterans specifically in mind — a covenant formation community where no one has to perform wellness to belong.

“You do not have to believe anything, be sober, or have it together to walk through this door. You just have to be willing to come in.”

— Dr. J Rodriguez

What This Ministry Names — Without Flinching

These are not weaknesses. They are the honest names for what service costs.

PTSD is not a moral failure

The nervous system's response to overwhelming threat is biology doing its job — a job that may have saved your life in a theater it was never designed for. What helped you survive there can make ordinary life feel impossible. That is not weakness. That is the cost of what you carried.

Moral injury is its own wound

Not the same as PTSD. Moral injury is the weight of what you did, witnessed, or failed to prevent — when it crossed the line of what you believed was right. It is guilt. It is grief. It is the question that won't go away: 'How do I live with what I know?' That question deserves a real answer, not a platitude.

TBI changes the landscape

Traumatic brain injury can change how you process emotion, handle conflict, manage frustration, and maintain connection. What looks like attitude is often neurology. You deserve a space that understands this.

Addiction is often the wound, not the problem

The substance that took the edge off the nightmares, the hypervigilance, the emptiness — it made sense when nothing else was working. This ministry does not require sobriety as an entry condition. You are welcome here, now, as you are.

What You Will Find Here

Covenant community — not a program

Connection to others who have carried the same weight. A covenant structure that is not transactional or conditional. Brothers and sisters who stay.

The Covenant Guide — AI-supported pastoral care

TaMOS includes a 24/7 AI formation guide — not a chatbot, not a therapist, but a formation companion that holds the space between clinical appointments and daily life. Trauma-informed. Available at 3am when everything is loudest.

The 4th Day pathway

A formation rhythm for the moment when the weight is so heavy something has to give. Based on the conviction that what feels past the point of return is not actually the end of the story. No religious pressure. No timeline. Just a threshold and someone to walk through it with you.

Clinical care runs alongside — not instead

This ministry is not therapy. If you need a licensed trauma-informed therapist, we will help you find one. This is the formation layer — covenant, meaning, community, purpose. Both matter. Neither replaces the other.

Family reintegration

Service changes you. It also changes the people who waited. Parallel formation tracks for spouses and family members — because healing is rarely a solo work.

The Commitment — Free to Those Who Served

Veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 50% or higher access the TaMOS formation platform at no cost. Your service paid for it. Fully.

Veterans with a rating under 50% receive a permanent 50% discount on all platform access and courses. Always.

We are currently in an early formation phase — invitation-based access. No documentation required to begin a conversation. Reach out directly. Your word is enough to start.

If You Are in Crisis

If you are thinking about harming yourself — please reach out now. You do not have to be alone in this moment.
