His Story
Dr. J’s life is a testament to the power of God’s grace. A former high school dropout and addict, he was radically transformed through a direct encounter with Jesus Christ on June 13, 1996. That transformation became a mandate — to help others experience the same.
He served in the United States Navy before pursuing his academic and pastoral calling. Over 28 years of ministry as a Lead Pastor, Church Planter, and Mindset Coach, Dr. J has walked with individuals, families, and churches through seasons of formation, fracture, and renewal.
In March 2025, Dr. J left a 30-year ministry in obedience to the Holy Spirit and relocated to McKinney, Texas — entering a new season of writing, building, and multiplication through Troika Ministries.
He is a pastor-teacher by wiring, strategist by instinct, and coach by practice. Calm, thoughtful, warm, yet direct — comfortable one-on-one and on larger platforms.

Troika Ministries
Troika Ministries is a formation-centered faith movement built to help the Church return to its greatest calling: whole people, covenant households, and kingdom multiplication.

The Troika Leadership Model

The word troika comes from a Russian three-horse harness system designed for speed, balance, and endurance. Three horses ran side by side — each essential, none dominant. Leadership works the same way.
Grounded in Galatians 5:22–23, the ABC framework maps the nine Fruit of the Spirit across three co-equal, concurrent, and inseparable dimensions of whole leadership.

What emerges under pressure was already there. Formation prepares the leader before the crisis arrives.
